Howdy friends and neighbors and connoisseurs of the finer things of life. Thanks for visiting.
Been hard at work getting the art work completed for the new CD "TALK ABOUT". The mastering is done and it sounds fantastic. Gerald at the Rubber Room did a great job and Jonathan Byrd knew just what to do to get the best out of Butch Morgan.
We were shooting photo's today and will have the cover done soon. I am hopeful that we will have this CD by the end of May or early June.
In the meantime, check out my calendar and come say HOWDY somewhere down the trail.
Remember I am your fan. Thanks for supporting me and my troubadour friends, as we travel around trying to bring a little relief into the world.

House building and recording

Howdy Friends and neighbors across this great planet. Welcome to another installment of "Wonderings"..
Since returning from the Rubber Room Sessions in N. Carolina, where we recorded 12 new songs for a soon to be released record, I have been hammering and banging trying to get the house in some kinda shape for our first ever Global House Warming Concert. My friend Shake Russell has agreed to be the special guest for our first house concert and party. We are very excited.
This old house was built in 1923 and had seen better days when we purchased it in 2003. It was sitting almost on the ground and the foundation was gone. Me and this fella named Doug tunneled under the house with shovels and raised the house 18 inches with car jacks. Once we got it all leveled out and she stopped moaning, creaking and popping, we poured new footers and replaced all the joist and WahLa! She was pretty as could be.. Well not pretty exactly. I have mostly done all the work myself . I enjoy building and remodeling . We are just about done inside and are making big moves outside as well. New paint inside and out, new porches, deck, hot tub, work shop. Really is looking good. ANYWAY..I told you all that so I could tell you this.
The new record was completed in record time ( pun intended). Three days for all basic tracks and two days of overdubs and we were done. Jonathan Byrd did an outstanding job of keep the SONG first and telling me when I needed to let go of some brilliant idea I had in the middle of recording the song.. He was encouraging when he needed to be and discouraging when it was necessary. Trevor Doak Morgan played drums and did an outstanding job, even got to put together a little yard-sale percussion kit and bang on that as well. Robbie Link played upright bass and cello and also did a remarkable job. We are putting together the art work and getting ready for a May release. This record comforts and rocks. There is a good blend of music here and I have the feeling DJ's are gonna like it a bunch.
OK, just about time for bed. Thanks for reading my mumblings. Keep lOOkin' up! your fan Claude"Butch"Morgan

You never know what's going to happen!

You never know. Everyone picked The Colts. All the money was on the Colts. I love the underdog, so i was for The Saints and low and behold, THEY WON!....Now i am not a huge football fan, but I get to share it with my dad and i would not trade that for anything. My Dad has seen EVERY single Superbowl.. Everyone. WOW!
Jonathan Byrd is producing my new CD. We have chosen the 12 songs and Trevor Doak (my son, father of my granddaughter, and drummer) and i will be heading to N.Carolina to record with a group of fellas that Jon has picked out just for this project. It's very exciting.
Please keep coming back. Join me on facebook, and myspace and sign my guest book. Remember, I am your fan, Claude"Butch"Morgan

Be Smart

What an OUTSTANDING Christmas...and now we are headed for 2010..WOW! If someone would have told me in 1963 that one day i would be living in a home that I owned, playing music full time and have 2 great kids and a granddaughter, and that my dad would still be alive and well, and we would both be BIG Spur's basketball fans, and that i would be very happily married for 19 years to a wonderful woman...Well I would have said.. "Are you insane?" But that is all true and more. I feel so very fortunate to be living in this GREAT country, doing what i love and loving what i do...AMERICA Oh I do love AMERICA.
Am not exactly sure what we are doing for New Years, we have several options. Make good choices at the end of this year while out partying, don't drive and drink. Enjoy yourself but be smart and We will see you down the trail soon..CBM
